    Drag and Drop Desktop is a fast an efficient Windows shell: it provides 
    a simple and intuitive object oriented user interface that makes Windows
    faster and easier to use. It enhances your desktop by allowing you to 
    drag objects directly on and off the desktop window. Launch applications
    easily by pointing and clicking, or by dropping a document, on an 
    application object. Virtual desktop capability unlocks the power of
    Windows NT to multi-task a large number of applications without a loss
    of performance.

    Installation, operation, and registration instructions are provided 
    online in the help file desktop.hlp. 

    The setup program can be run from the hard drive or from floppy. The 
    files desktop.exe, desktop.hlp and ctl3d32.dll must be in the same 
    directory as the setup program. 

    If you decide not to use Drag and Drop Desktop, you can also use the 
    setup program to remove the software, leaving your computer just as it
    was before installation.

    Note that the desktop control panel is normally hidden to provide a 
    completely clean desktop. The control panel is accessed by clicking
    the right mouse button anywhere on the desktop window.

    The setup program creates several default desktops that contain all of 
    the applications supplied with Windows NT. The setup program does not 
    create objects for other applications already installed on your 
    computer. Use the File, Import command to create objects for other 
    applications.

    You may register this product on CompuServe. Type GO SWREG at the

    ENHANCEMENTS:

        Added ability to install or remove as shell using the preferences 
        command.

        Added ability to replace the Windows Task Manager if operating as 
        the shell.

        Added Export Group function to export the contents of the current 
        desktop into a Program Manager group.

        Added ability to view selected desktops objects as icons only 
        (the title is not shown).

        Added Pin Position option to the desktop control panel.

        Added option of sorting the desktop list list-box.

    BUGS FIXED:

        The Separate Address Space option would get reset if the object 
        was moved. This option is now disabled by default for 16 bit 
        applications, and is forced on for Windows NT applications.

        Changing a few of an objects properties did not cause the modify 
        flag to be set, resulting in the inability to save the desktop 
        prior to exit.

        When dropping an object on a desktop object, parameters were 
        stripped from the command line. Now the command line is used
        in tact. 

    LIMITATIONS:

        There is a problem installing all or parts of the 
        latest version of Microsoft Office. This also applies 
        to Microsoft Word 6.0, and Excel 5.0. The setup program 
        will report "Installation Failure" just after starting. 
        It appears that the setup program is using a undocumented
        DDE conversation with the Program Manager, and will not
        install unless this conversation is established. A work 
        around is to run the Program Manager and then run setup. 
        This problem is under investigation and will be 
        corrected in a future release.
